Covid Liaison Officers
Dear Parents and Carers,
We just wanted to update you on our ongoing quest to get back into the pool. As you can appreciate, there has been a lot of effort on behalf of many people and institutions to obtain the safest and best way to return to some degree of normality without taking steps backward. That said, we hope to return to the pool sometime in the not too distant future if we continue to move forward. As you will be aware, when we return we will face a different situation to the one we left in March. Scottish Swimming have levied a requirement for all clubs to have a Covid Officer who will receive training from Scottish Swimming on the relevant issues regarding safe return to our sport. Additionally, Scottish Swimming will require a Covid Liaison Officer to be present at all training sessions, one Covid Liaison Officer per Squad. We will strive to have 2 Liaison Officers per squad to allow for some depth, as a Covid Liaison Officer must be present for each training session. Details are as follows:
- Training will be provided by the Covid Officer (Mike Flynn)
- A Covid Liaison Officer must attend each session of each squads’ training in most cases.
- Covid Liaison Officers will get PVG screened.
This is an absolute show-stopper for our return to the pool. Without a Covid Liaison Officer at each session we will be unable to start the session. Actively seeking volunteers!!! Please let us know ASAP if you can step up!
