Cumbernauld Open Age Group and Senior Meet News Report
http://wowgoldportal.com/tag/rylak-eggs/ The Tryst was bursting with energy this weekend as the Cumbernauld Swimming Club played host at its’ annual Open Age Group and Senior Meet. Always the gracious hosts, our swimmers stepped up with some superior performances throughout the 2 days of competition.
In the girls 8-12 Age Group, Emma Creaney led the charge with Gold in both the 100 metre Butterfly and Backcrawl, while also earning Bronze in the 100 metre Freestyle and a place in both the 50 metre Butterfly and Freestyle finals. Madison Gallacher also delivered a strong performance, earning Silver in the 100 metre Butterfly and Freestyle, Bronze in both the 50 metre Freestyle and Butterfly, 4th in the 100 metre Breast stroke and a place in the 50 metre Breaststroke finals.
Nicole Flynn powered her way to Gold in the 13 year old girls 100 metre Butterfly while also making the 50 metre Breaststroke final, and Hanna Liddle made the 50 metre Backcrawl final.
Beth Wilson led the 14 year old girls with a Silver in the 50 metre Butterfly and Bronze in the 100 metre Butterfly and Backcrawl as well as the 50 metre Backcrawl, while also making the finals of the 50 metre Freestyle.
The boys had a busy weekend as well. Jamie Glen captured a Bronze in the 8-12 boys 100 metre Butterfly while also earning finals spots in the 50 metre Butterfly and Backcrawl, while Dylan McShane also grabbed a spot in the 50 metre Backcrawl final. Jack Lewis and Alfie Smith battled each other for a 4th and 5th place finish in the 100 metre Backcrawl.
13 year old Luke Johnson captured a pair of Bronze medals in the 50 metre Butterfly and Freestyle while also fighting to a 4th place finish in the 100 metre Breaststroke. Agemate Jack Bath reached the finals of the 50 metre Butterfly.
Cameron Creaney delivered another strong performance in the 14 year old category, grabbing Gold in the 50 metre Butterfly, Silver in the 50 metre Breaststroke and Backcrawl as well as the 100 metre Butterfly and Bronze in the 50 metre Freestyle. Seth Knox earned places in both the 50 metre Freestyle and Backcrawl finals while also powering his way to 5th in the 100 metre Butterfly.
In the Age 15 and above category, Sam Glen captured a Bronze in the 50 metre Backcrawl and made the finals in the 50 metre Butterfly, while Euan McDonald earned a spot in the 50 metre Backcrawl final. Cameron Neilson had a solid performance while finishing 5th in the 100 metre Backcrawl.
Sunday finished off with a spark as the teams competed in a cannonball relay, consisting of 6 swimmers,3 girls and 3 boys in the 3 lower age groups. The Cumbernauld A Team, comprised of Madison Gallacher, Jamie Glen, Nicole Flynn, Luke Johnson, Beth Wilson and Cameron Creaney put forth a valiant effort before getting pushed into Silver medal position by the team from South Ayrshire.
It was another fantastic weekend for our young swimmers, many of whom achieved multiple personal best times over the weekend. A hats off also to all the volunteers who created such a welcome and enthusiastic atmosphere throughout the weekend.
